Christmas Day couldn’t come quickly enough at our house (especially considering how we didn’t let our kids do anything fun on Christmas Eve). At the butt-crack (this sentence has been edited by my smoking hot wife to exclude all references to the rear end) crack of dawn, the kids rushed out of be to see what Santa had brought them.
Sammy got a real guitar.
Alex got his very own digital (and waterproof) camera.
The Little Princess got her very own little princess dolls (Rapunzel and Mulan, in case you were wondering) and a pretty snazzy shopping cart. Maggie especially liked that Mulan (pronounced Malu-lon in Maggie-speak) looked just like her.
Then came the gifts from the family members.
There were plenty of hugs to go around.
Awwww… isn’t that just precious (no not the freaky looking angry bird on Sammy’s head… I’m talking about the cutsie-poo hugs)?
Because Christmas was on Sunday this year, we had to hurry up and get kids ready for Church as soon as we were done opening presents. Of course, this meant that Mandee (who, as I may have mentioned before, is slightly crazy) had to take about a hundred several pictures of Maggie in her Christmas dress. She also wanted to get pictures of the boys… but I was being the mean dad and hurried everyone out the door to church. Oh, well… nobody wants to see pictures of boys in their Christmas dresses anyway.
Because it was Christmas Day… we broke with our normal Sunday afternoon activities and let the kids “do whatever-the-heck they wanted”. This meant that we saw a lot of this:
And, when Sammy lost at the game, we saw a little of this:
One of the highlights of the day was a rousing family game of “Would You Rather”. For some inexplicable reason, the game came with a flaming red singing and screaming chili pepper. That makes perfect sense doesn’t it? I mean, what kids board game would be complete without musical vegetables.
Of course… if you play a game involving a flaming red musical chili pepper… you are inevitably going to end up with some pretty sweet moves from our little break dancers.
I think Alex may have found his calling in life.
MERRY CHRISTMAS.
