August–In a Nutshell

August started off with me and my sweetie making a road trip to Salmon for a wedding reception.  Almost 8 hours of travel there and back that day!  It was just fun to spend the day together.

Two goons in a box. I’m never really sure why we buy our children toys. They always seem to have more fun with a cardboard box.

Alex earned his Life award this summer.  He is so close to his Eagle.  This is making us feel too old.

My dearest darlingest husband bought me the most beautiful bouquet of daisies for our anniversary. Daisies always make me happy!

This one is a little hard to explain… but we will sure try.  Somehow the Little Princess managed to get her finger caught in the floor vent in her room.  Don’t ask how… we can’t explain it either.  Needless to say, she was very pitiful for the rest of the night.  What better way to make the situation better than to snap a few pictures, right?

Maggie had Kayla over to play and since it was just the three of us at home we snuck away to Rupe’s for dinner. They were silly and giggly the whole time. Love these girls!

Little Miss had to have a cavity filled and since she had a massive freak out the first time we opted for sedation this time. This is the look of a very loopy Maggie-moo.

We finally finished our shop, which meant that Daddy got to have a fun project with the shop floor.  His little helper did most of the hard work.

One of the best parts of August is fresh vegetables from the garden.  Little Miss Maggie absolutely LOVES her tomatoes.

Apparently, someone (possibly named Shay) felt that we needed a little more zucchini in our lives.

Two girly-girls sharing a bowl of popcorn while watching Anne of Green Gables (I can here Merritt gagging in the background while I write this).  Hey, I am raising my girl right!

Daddy’s favorite part of August is taking advantage of a little bit of slave labor in the yard.

None of them really have much of a clue about the proper way to trim trees.

It is just loads of fun to cut stuff down!

One of the highlights of August was a short anniversary trip with Kevin and Sabrina and catching a showing of Wicked in Salt Lake.

Awwwww.   How cute are we?

We also made one last hurrah to the cabin with Grandma and Grandpa before the cabin got closed back up.  We took in a showing of “Less Miserable” at the Mack’s Inn Dinner Theater per the birthday boy’s (aka Sammy)request.  Best show we have seen there in a while.
