For some reason, we are not considered to be good parents unless we make an annual trek to the corn maze during October. Seriously, Sammy has a checklist for the activities that have to be completed each year to make sure that he has a happy childhood. The corn maze is right at the top of that list. Personally, I don’t get it… “Hey, let’s go wander around for hours on end in a muddy field. You know what could make it even more enjoyable? Let’s wait until it is below freezing!!! That way, if we get lost, we are sure to die of hypothermia before we are rescued. That should be a blast!!”
Now presenting… the Children of the Corn:
They enjoyed themselves a little too much.
Sam and Rylan didn’t want any help. They wanted to crack the code of the maze all by themselves.
Alex and Joseph just wanted to see how lost they could get.
Maggie got to ride her favorite pack mule the entire time.
Doesn’t she look content?
“Geez… it sure is hard work being this cute.”
The Little Princess did manage to dismount her trusty steed for a few short minutes. She didn’t want her mommy to get lonely.
Boy… that was a lot of hard work!!!
After we extricated ourselves from the depths of the maze, we partook in the remaining activities available. Who wouldn’t want to go sliding down a sewer pipe? I mean how does that not sound like a great idea?
I hope they washed their hands afterwards.
Last, but definitely not least… we couldn’t leave until we had experienced the corn cannon. We sent the kids out to collect their ammunition.
Sammy looks right in his element.
Alex took out a little of his pent up frustrations.
Daddy just tried not to embarrass himself.
Something must have happened inside of the maze. Are these really the kids that we brought with us?

I remember being so excited to go to my first corn maze (as an adult) and realizing that it was INCREDIBLY overrated.... Love the title of your post... children of the corn... snicker...
