Maggie loves all things girly…anything in pink or purple, new clothes, new shoes, getting her nails painted, purses, baby dolls, fairies, jewelry, sparkles, and of course princesses. So when I heard that the high school was doing a Princess Tea Party as a fund raiser I knew we had to go (because I love all things little girly too). Maggie talked about it nonstop for several days and continually asked when the princess party was going to be, until the big day finally came. She was so excited to get all dressed up in her purple princess dress (that she picked out days in advance) and have her hair curled and nails painted. She was literally giddy with the anticipation. We picked up cousins Abby and Carson and with the three giggly girls in tow we were on our way...and then we arrived...and Maggie walked in and saw what seemed to be hundreds of little girls and then (because she is a girl and a girls mood can change for no apparent reason) she looked like this…
After attending a Princess Manners class and Princess Singing Time she began to warm up a little. The high school students were all dressed up and my favorite princess the whole day was Snow White. She was so cute and bubbly and acted and sang just like Snow White.
We went to several little princess classes and then it was time for tea.
There were tons of costumed teenagers milling about, many of which had nothing to do with princesses (seriously, Mario and a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle do NOT belong at a princess party). We chose to have our picture with a true princess.
Maggie would not join in at the Princess Dance Class but by the time it was all over she was dancing and twirling all on her own.
Although we had a few grumpy moments from Princess Maggie, all in all I think the girls had a good time.
